Here they are, the remaining photos from my once-in-a-lifetime
find, the four authentic snapshots originally removed from Elizabeth Short's
very own scrapbooks by the Los Angeles Examiner reporters in 1947. They are not
copies but are original artifacts from the initial Black Dahlia investigation in
1947. I have been asked to put them up separately as well as a group but I am in
agreement with the latter request, they should stay together. These were her
personal photos, they were found in her scrapbooks at the bus station where she
had checked her luggage before her death. They still have the black glue spots
on their backs where they were torn from the pages. These aren't just vintage
photos, they were HER photos. I have been informed that all personal property
was returned to the family by the police following the investigation, somehow
these slipped through the cracks (thanks for your help and info, you know who
you are). HERE ARE THE DESCRIPTIONS: Each photo has been labeled in ink on the
bottoms, probably by the press when they were trying to find out who she'd been
with. The smallest Florida photo measures 3.75"X2.75" and is of her when she was
a teenager, she looks very young, it is sharp focused. The next photo of her
outside on a date with a man named Paul Morris measures 3&3/8"X5.25" and is
sharp focused. Yes, it looks odd but her left leg is directly behind her right.
The third photo appears to be an enlargement that has been cropped, it measures
3.25"X4.25" and is not as sharp focused as the others but is still very
striking. There is a 3/4" tear running through her chin and her necklace and a
thin area in back where the photo paper was somewhat removed, there is a little
krinkling on the front, apparently the reporters weren't as careful with this
one. The final photo of her on a date with Tim is the stunning one, it measures
a whopping 8"X6" and is sharp focused. Mere words can't describe this beautiful
yet haunting image, it's almost like you are standing next to their table. She
is wearing the same choker necklace from the other photo. I'm afraid I don't
know much more than this, except that the police used paper labels on the
snapshots they removed, all of these being returned to family. These photographs
were found by me ten years ago among other Black Dahlia originals in a large
group of photos spanning 90 years from the archives of the defunct L. A.
Examiner which was heavily involved in the investigation back then. They had
remained undiscovered until I stumbled on to them while looking for old
motorcycle photos, my dumb luck. These are all that remain of the original
Dahlia photos I found and since sold, but they are the best and the rarest BD
items you'll ever see on Ebay. And now I will close with the line that people
use all too freely on Ebay, but in this case it's really true; "Where ya gonna
find another?!!" If you have any questions please email me. United States
bidders only, please. Buyer to pay for priority mail plus insurance. Prefer
payment by U.S. postal money order(s). Personal checks will be held 10(ten)days.
M/O or Cashiers Check will ship same day. Sorry no online payments. Payment must
be received within 10 days. If Ebay is down for any reason on the last day of
auction I reserve the right to cancel the auction and re-list the item. I also
reserve the right to cancel at my discretion any bids from those with negative
feedback. GOOD LUCK!

I have been asked if I can provide any documentation supporting the
authenticity of these photos. I cannot. All I can say is that they are original
old photos and are definitely of Elizabeth Short. It is a logical assumption
that they were originally taken from her scrapbooks but I have no way of proving
it. Regardless, whoever ends up owning them will not be
dissapointed.
